Curious how you got the button to operate a door opener..? Bike looks much better without and I agree the horn is pretty useless.
I just wired a relay to the horn wires and have it triggering the opener in the left side cover - I soldered wires to the opener button. The opener is protected from water in a zip top bag.
I prefer mine gone. That button opens the garage door now.
If they can’t hear the pipes, there’s no way they’re hearing that goofy horn 😂
This side of the motor would look a lot better with finned headbolt covers. Something I do to my bikes. The following part is apparently for M8 motors and I can't find the older style for the pre M8 bikes. Maybe a dealer would still have a set laying around. Also I think the older style looks better.
I find them all over eBay.
Ever since the 2017 touring models came out, the horn is loud AF. I disagree that it's useless, but to each their own, I guess.
Useless was a bit of an exaggeration but I've not been in a situation (yet) where I think the horn would have helped me out. In a close call I've been more concerned with control and maneuvering out if it. If I have time to think about and hit the horn it's more of a FU which I try to avoid. I would rather be on my way than get involved in road rage on the bike.

For sure, but it is useful to get a fellow riders attention and other stuff, which pre-2017 was not a thing. Those horns sounded like a duck with COPD
