Phone mounts
Very simple standard design, have them on two bikes, both with vibration dampening, no special case, no special adhesive, no special addon part to phone. Got one sent with wrong color part and Tackform corrected it and sent a gift and return label for part that was wrong color, all from just an email I sent stating that the coupler was black instead of chrome like rest of parts. I had correct part in two days. Andrew is great!! Add vibration dampening, pick bar size..

I personally prefer the ball mount that you place under the mirror. I've found that puts things about where I want them, and the mount is steady.
Mounts that clamp on via a u-bolt will fit securely, but tend to scar what they are on, and I don't like the looks of the bolt.
Mounts that clamp on via a hand tightened **** never seem to stay till for me. They slide around the bar they are on.
Various panel mounts work fine, but I rarely like drilling holes into something to mount a base. Done well, it's fine. Position carefully and thoughtfully.
The various arm lengths, you need to figure out how far away from the mount ball you want the phone. I'd recommend going with the shortest arm you can, so that you maximize stability.
When you first mount it all up and crank it tight, it will still slip. Give it a few hours/days, and the plastic all sorta "welds" itself together and becomes nearly rock solid.
Pretty aftermarket ones with shiny *****, will never be very secure.
As for the cradle or whatever you want to call it for holding the phone:
The likes of the x-mount alone, or similar designs, I've seen too many phones go flying.
Add in a retainer net and they're fine.
I've yet to meet the side squeeze type that didn't let my phone walk up, or down, in it, over time. Spring loaded, hand cranked, etc.
Four corner squeeze types seems generally ok, but beating down rough roads, I've had a phone start to jump out.
Currently, I'm using the Quadlock. It's an expensive route to go. Not quite sure I'd do it again if I were to be starting over.

Fantastic solid unit, easy to insert the phone with the case on. I have an iPhone 14 pro max and it fit, no problem.
I then completely changed my system, no longer need it and removed it after about 2 months of use. Up for grabs for $50 plus the ride if anyone is interested.
I like the look of the one that clamps on the bar. I never considered getting a phone mount for my nekkid bikes but since my 23 Ultra Limited keeps breaking down and winding up in the shop I might look into one.
