For what they charge, that is absolute crap. I would tell them they have a week to get it right, you bought and paid for the product already, why should you go to the back of the line. there are way too may seat makers out there for them to treat customers like that. I hope they see these comments. I don't think I would order off of them with some of the stories I've been seeing lately. Pretty much narrowed it down to C&C or Mean City.
So they screw it up, and actually ship it then want to charge 20% restocking to return it. ? Top notch crappy customer service. Remind me to never buy anything from Corbin
For what they charge, that is absolute crap. .................................................. .................I hope they see these comments.
And hoping they see the comments, I will add a story.
I have always liked Corbin seats and had no problems in the past. My wife ordered one for her 2023 Can Am Spyder. When it came it didn't even fit the bike. I sent pictures and apparently they used a pan for the wrong model or something. Whatever, stuff happens. We shipped it back, waited some more, got the second seat. It sorta fit the bike, but the fit was ****. Big gap around the back and shaped weird, the rider bucket was moved pretty far back from stock, the passenger pillion was so small it was worthless and since my wife likes to have the granddaughter ride with her that was a big deal. Overall it wasn't impressive. They gave her the run around the second time, said they would adjust it for rider fit one time with shipping on our dime. Didn't even address that it didn't fit the bike worth a **** or the proportions. I don't remember exactly, but seems they wouldn't offer to take it back because it was a "Custom" or something. ****, they were the ones who said they cold make the seat, we just ordered it off their web page. If you don't have the correct bike to set the thing up for proper fit, don't offer it.
Pissed me off for sure. We said F**k em and moved on. Gave the seat to the parts guy (super nice guy) at the local shop where she bought the Spyder so one his tall customers could try it.
Corbin has never been known for customer service. I bought another cause it is what I know. I was hoping for an exact same seat. Not sure if seat is different or different frame dictates different style. I have found the new touring frame to be cramping on the legs. My sheep skin doesn't seem to fit anymore. Also as I said it should be easy to throw a seat on.
It didn't have the corbin firmness either, not sure good or bad. I have kinda thought at times a little to soft and creating pressure points. But you never know the seat or life.
Mine has a bit of gap in the front, for the price maybe shouldn't be there. But I don't think of it often,
What did **** me off was how hard it was to get on. It was a grade mother ___. I believe the said to lube the rubber mounts, which I did. I had one hell of a fight getting the back screw in, It said after some miles it would loose up. Not sure what it has to be so tight fitting, I have not taken it off, because I am afraid to get it back on. Laugh, but it was a fight to get the back screw in with a tourpack.
It should be easy to put a seat on. Older style seats with the cables, are BS. I got one that is a mess. They claim installed wrong. Again, it should not be hard to install a seat. Any monkey can do it.
I hear ya man...just a seat...not like mounting a tire right?
i have a brand new C&C for sale in the classified section here
get in touch with your credit card company, include pictures, explain it's not what you paid for and that their offer to resolve this in 4-6 weeks takes up about 1/3 of your riding season...unacceptable bullshit
your card company will reverse the charges, if Corbin fights, they'll probably lose this one and then have to pay fees for fighting it on top of having to refund you in full, most charge backs go uncontested from the retailer and the patron wins
That seat doesn't pass the eye test sitting on a work bench, let alone on a bike. And a 20% re-stocking fee? Where's the pride in craftsmanship? 100% UNSATISFACTORY
Thank you for all of the feedback. I am going to go the route of a CC dispute and see what happens. I really just want to be done with this company at this point, and would prefer not to eat a 20% restocking fee.
