I put a decent scratch in my windshield the other day when I was cleaning it off. I was trying to get a bitch of a bug off by using my fingernail through a soft towel I always use and was kind of surprised it would scratch through the towel.
Anyway, does anyone know of any magic trick to help heal or cover up the scratch? I've heard of a couple products which supposedly work on glass but not sure if they would work on fiberglass. I'd really appreciate any feedback.
Won't be your last, gives it character. I don't know a remedy, but I carry a small spray bottle of Zooke with a soft rag to clean windshield on the road.
Novus Plastic Polish Kitread about it. my dealer sales it. however, i got mine for my wifes tanning bed at home depot. be careful with acrylic. good luck
Always use an up-&-down wiping motion, not side-to-side on a windshield when cleaning...Up/down scratches don't scatter headlights and sunlight as bad.
For bugs, I have a spray bottle filled with water in the garage next to the bike. I mist the windshield and let the bugs soften up for a few minutes and then they wipe off easily (especially if you have coated it with one of the winshield polishes).
