Went on a 200 mile ride today almost home andI hear a whirlling sound I thought someone was useing a weed eater on their yard but it was coming from my bike I think, I stopped the noise stopped started rolling agin their is the noise sounds strange didnt see anything loose. Heard noiseat 35mph was pretty lound slowed to 15mph was still there but not as loud.Any Ideas.
That's kind of hard to diagnose. Where approximately on the bike was the noise coming from? Which bike model?
Since the loudness decreases as the speed decreases, I would think that something is rubbing. Could be the belt hitting the belt guard or something rubbbing on the tire. Have you had any work done recently?
Could not find anything loose or rubbing . I took a ride this morning I didnt hear it like yesterday I think it may have come from my exhaust, I could barley hear it this morning;.what it sounds like the string end of the weed eater spinning, itwas very faint I dont know why it was so loud yesterday.
You might have had something stuck to a tire or maybe a rock wedged in the tread. Inspect your tires. If it's a new bike, there might be a label on the inside of a fender from the factory that is coming off and hitting the tire.
Don't get all paranoid..........then you'll REALLY start hearing strange noises................
