2 into 1 will your best pipe for performance. Back pressure etc. Also may be a little louder also.
True duals look better in most peoples opinion but you will lose some torque due to decreased back pressure.
I have the V&H Pro Pipe on mine and have really liked it. Nice rumble but not too loud. I can still hear the radio at speed. Downside is, I've always wanted fishtails on my bike....since I was a kid but that's not gonna happen with the 2 into 1. My bike does run a lot better, I had it dynoed, have the K&N and a PCIII. Mileage has always sucked but that's the nature of the beast. I miss the look and sound of the duals and at some point, I may go with the True Duals to compare performance but I'll keep the 2 into 1 just in case! If you're wanting more power and torque the 2-1 is the way to go. If you're more into looks and sound, go with the duals, especially ones you can change out the muffs or baffles. My 2¢...........
Minus:
- Hotter rear cylinder (even more than normal)
- One-sided look (unless you go with D&D Fat Cats with ghost pipe, but... extra weight)
- um, aw screw it - get the Fat Cats - they perform, look andsound awesome!
+The plusIs your Bike will run like a rapped ape with the 2-1.
-The MinusIs you will waist alot off $$$ on the duals before you actually go with the 2-1. I know that's what I did.
I agree with all of these (except the rear jug running hotter than otherwise), but this is a classic response!
Also.... one other "minus" for those those who care about looks and haveduals or stock headpipes... Looking at them, from the back, the two mufflers almost always hang at different angles. Some may not care, but looking at that drives me nutz.....
