Does anyone have any experience good or bad with any of the Facebook groups selling Harley parts? I recently was attempting to buy a set of takeoff wheels and tires and my BS detector suddenly went off and I bailed out. I am a member of a couple different ones and have posted a screenshot of both of their home pages. They both seem to run the same way. They list a boatload of stuff and the only reply they ever leave on the page is to PM them when you inquire about a listing. Apologies if this isn't allowed.
I get those types of pages trying to friend me and follow me on other platforms. 99% of the time they are scams.
They copy pics of people selling Harley parts and post them in hopes of getting some fools to Venmo, Zelle, money order or paypal friends and family pay them for the parts... that they don't even have.

Yeah the guy I was trying to buy from actually ran the group. It was a whole ordeal when I offered to drive to where he allegedly was to pick up instead of having the stuff shipped from a little over an hour away.

The turning off comments, and requiring contact by IM are both questionable tactics used by scammers. Some scammers will claim they are tech challenged, old, whatever reason, to justify their actions. I will report to Facebook and the group admin. Not that it really does any good, but I try to do my part.
On Facebook Market Place, Facebook Groups, and Craigslist: If I cannot physically see and touch the item and pay cash, it is a no go for me. Just too many scams out there.
I bought a set of golf clubs on FB market place and used PP not the friends and family but the other one. Anyway I was scammed and PP covered me, it took awhile but I got a full refund.
