Default Relocate batwing mirrors

I put custom bars on Glytr (2013 FLHX) last year, not apes but an approximation of buckhorns. The stock mirrors are still usable, with probably 2/3 unobstructed; I can see my knuckles in the bottom inside corner. Because I don't have apes I need to move my mirrors *up*, not down, no more than 4". If I could move them out at an angle I'd like that better, say 45 degrees up and away from the bike on both sides, but straight up could work.

Hours of scouring the 'net (including here ofc) reveals essentially two styles:

Amazon Amazon
Amazon Amazon
(not sure why the forum thinks I want these links obfscated to something so blatantly useless)

The first is available from dozens and dozens of manufacturers, in a wide variety of prices, all of which are essentially the same thing. This style generally has flexible mounting options, but has two main problems in my mind:
1. It looks flimsy (even when it's hundreds of dollars), which means vibration may make the mirror largely useless. I have seen multiple reviews that call this out specifically.
2. It's too long, which makes it much more likely that vibration will make the mirror useless.

The latter is largely only available from Pingel. That style looks solid and moves the mirror much less, both attractive options for me, but it also has two main problems:
1. I can't find any information anywhere about whether one MUST mount them down. I'm fine swapping the mirrors, which should let me mount them pointing up, but I don't know if that's possible.
2. They're straight to plaid expensive. The more something the costs the more demanding I am of its performance. I'd expect a mirror on this bracket to move no more than without it, and mount precisely how I want it to mount. If it doesn't, I know very good machinists that could make a set for around this price.

I'd like to see what others think of either of these styles, and maybe find out if someone knows of a style I haven't found yet.

Thanks for your time...

I'd like to see pics of your bars, I want a buckhorn style set for my FLHT.

Not elegant but I`d just throw stick on convex "blind spot " mirrors on it.
If it doesn`t work you`re out $5

You could probably call Pingel directly and get an answer. Another option is this by Kury. It lets you adjust in any direction.

Lots of good info on non-custom alternatives in that thread as well. Good luck!...

This won't regain use of the lost 1/3 of the mirror that's behind my knuckles. I'm happy with the field of view already. (grin)

Just throw some handle bar ones on. The holes for them are already there.

Thanks I'll look it over, I loved the bucks on my old FXRS for comfort especially the fact that the grips pointed down quite a bit.
My left elbow doesn't straighten out more than 75% from an old injury so being able to keep it bent and pointed down taking weight off it really helps a lot.
I also had 4" risers with a 2' pullback, wish I could duplicate the position of those grips on my bagger.
The bars on my 2019 FLHT pretty much suck for me, it's the only comfort mod I haven't addressed yet because I just haven't been able to find what I'm looking for.
(man that FX pic was a long time ago lol)

@buell95: This off-the-windshield mounting is exactly the sort of "I've never heard of that" I was hoping would crop up. They look nice but I, too, have to wonder about vibration. But now I have search criteria. (grin) Thanks!!

Was posting about stuff done to my bagger here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...l#post21934024 and mentioned this thread. Since I can't seem to get the post ID of someone else's content, buel95's suggestion is the next one after that.

I don't think i would worry to much about vibration.
Hell even the stock mirrors on the handlebars vibrate at idle, once you get a load on the engine they are fine.
