The passing lamp switch is on the left side of the nacelle on a `16 Road King, the accessory switch is on the right side.

That is an OEM connector, (# 67).

It is a 4-way Tyco Mate-n- Lock connector, but it only has 2 wires running through it (Lt Blue/Green, Violet/Blue).

Those 2 wires go to the P&A accessory connector under the left side cover.

The P&A accessory connector (#4 A) has 4 terminals inside.

Black wire is ground.

Red/Blue is power from the 20amp P&A circuit, always energized.

Violet/Blue is power from P&A Relay (only powered when ignition or accessory switch is on).

Light Blue/Green is power from that accessory switch up on the nacelle (right side), it gets its power from the Violet/Blue wire (which is connected to the nacelle accessory switch.

My remote has a battery already (and I can rewire it to draw power from the bike) but if I want to just use the on/off function of the button, which wires would I need to use? Light Blue/Green and Black?

Your remote likely uses a 3V battery. How do you plan to convert the bike's 12V to 3V?

Unplug the connector that goes to the switch, wrap the connector half from the main harness side with RTV tape and secure it.

Get a new connector half.

Install terminals on new wires.

Pin those new wires into the new connector half.

Connect the other end of the new wires to what ever you want to switch on and off.

Plug the new connector half to the accessory switch.

That's what I want to do but:
1. I don't know what connector that is
2. My remote has 2 wires coming from the it's switch

Like I said, you can find them in lots of places and many different styles, like
this one this one
or
these these
as examples. Or you can get real fancy and spend more than you should like https://www.motogadget.us/products/mo-switch-basic that go on your bars.

The groove on the threads of your toggle is to keep it from rotating if it's loose. The round buttons doesn't matter, unless you want to put that toggle back on at a later time. Me personally, I would leave that ACC switch alone and use the ACC plug for other things. I would probably find a place for the momentary button. Some install these mid-frame air deflectors and install the button on that.
