Default Bars for SG ST - ca. 10" to be used with OEM mirrors - recommendations

Hi All,

I really like the OEM mirrors and would not like to relocate or use bar mounted ones, but - I'd like the steering bars to be ca. 1" up and 1" towards the rider more compared to OEM bars.

Best with internal wiring and otherwise similar to OEM in other dimensions (width etc).

Any specific recommendations?

Honestly..... Why bother at those small adjustments. Move them back an inch in the clamps and don't worry about the height. Its an expensive move and I can see why anyone would bother at anything less than 12" (unless they're short bodied). 14" is perfect on my SG, I don't use bar mirrors and have zero issues looking behind.

Hmm thanks for your valuable opinion.

I thought 1inch up would greatly help long distance, but I'll first move it in and see how it works.

So you're saying you got the 14" and still can see fairing mirrors well? That's great, I read somewhere anywhere above 10 will make your arm cover mirrors...pity one can't try different setups before installing. I live in a place where it's harder to order parts (and return) - so if I had to relocate mirrors and wouldn't order a set of new ones - I'd wait another weeks for the parts, and vice versa - if I order these ans they'd not be necessary, hard or impossible to return.

1" wouldnt be noticeable. I don't have an issue looking back with the fairing mirrors. 10" rise should put you right about the upper limits of the fairing. Anything above that your hands will be above the fairing.

Maybe your dealer has a meet night where you can try others bikes?

14" bars for instance.

Yea this dealer in in a warzone so not really meetups nights here

Nevertheless - I wanted a really cosmetic rise, but to keep hands under the fairing because I ride in both very hot but also very cold climates (like one trip can be from 37C down to 04C at times), sometimes you want that wind on your hands sometimes you don't - but from both, I choose to have it too hot than blowing cold

if you switch out your bars add heated grips.

Yea, thought of this! Had it on my previous bike (GS) and that helped a lot, also thought of a heated seat.

I got a heated vest, it's awesome too. I thought it won't help overall as your legs and hands remain cold / but no - guess the pumped blood from the heart area gets heated up and you stay warm overall.

if you already have heated gear, you can just add heated gloves.
