Sounds like it needs a good Dyno Tune form a local expert. How many miles on the bike? Have you looked at the plugs, they are not good forever, good luck.
New plugs last year. It runs great at speed, but once in a while it will idle down and stall at a stop. Not on every ride. About 45k miles on the bike. A local bike shop told me to buy a tuner and bring it to him. Said all together I'd be looking at around $1000. Thought I'd do some research after that, and here I am.
Take 15 minutes and check the IAC as suggested by Hattitude in post # 7
I will have to research it a bit, but will do it. Just an FYI the bike was doing this last year. As a heads up, I have a brand new battery, VR and stator in the bike. I replaced them around two weeks ago as the VR went bad.

So I cleaned the IAC and it seems to run quite a bit better now. It was quite sorry in the throttle body. I haven't done any longer rides yet, but zero stalls so far. I most likely just jinxed that, but wanted pass along the info. I really do appreciateall the help!
I clean my IAC every oil change.
I've had issues with it before I knew what to do with it.
Also, when was the last time you changed fuel filter?
Had an issue with that too when not starting, manual says change at 25k miles.

As far as the fuel filter, never... But that will be next!
