Default PLUGS AT 10,000

I was reading in the owners manual about every 10,000 miles you should change your spark plugs. I have 24.500 and have never changed them. I do my own service. The bike is running great. Do you guys change them like it says?

I changed mine at 10k. Did it more so because of the 95" build and the map I was running on my pclll. The map was slightly off for my specificbike so I will probably change them again once my Tmax dials in my bike. I would change them if I were you. Can't hurt. Not like the bike will run worse with new plugs that are gapped right.

The ends of spark plugs "break down". It is best to follow scheduled mant.

I replace mine every 10k like the manual says and also carry a spare set in my saddlebag. If you carry a spare set, make sure to check the gap before hand. They're supposed to be pre-gapped from the factory, but you never know. Or carry a gap gauge.

I'm sure they will last a lot longer, but as mentioned, they're cheap, and there are only two of them. I've been told to just buy the normal HD product. I also like to change them to make sure that the metal of the plug and head aren't seizing together.

Thanks guys for the replies, I'm replacing them tomorrow. I was looking at them and thinking they are getting a little rusty, so thought I would ask. The seizing part makes sense too.

I tried the screaming eagle triple platinum plugs and the motor seems to start up a hair better but other than that I could not tell a difference though they seem to be burning cleaner when I checked them, about 7k on them so far and I use anti seize when installing the plugs.
