I stripped my drain plug and im having trouble putting the new drain pan back in because of the baffle springs. I keep seing post about removing the rear engine mount makes it easier but also see where when you do this the swing arm has to be re centered. Is it easier to remove the front motor mount? Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated

1 You bought the wrong pan.. My bet it's not new..
2. No, raising the front won't help.
3. Buy a piece of thin sheet metal place it by hand in the top center of the oil tank bottom of tranny and slide the oil pan in. On thing I've not tried would be to drill a hole in the sheet metal end and zip tie it to front oil hole on the pan. Hold the back end down, compressing the springs and slide into place. Cut the zip tie and slide the sheet metal out..

You can try Max's solution, it's better than most I have heard. Regardless of what you do, you will have to deal with the baffle springs all the while, trying to avoid damaging or misplacing the gasket. When I did this to my '02 FLHT I replaced the OEM pan with the '09 up pan with the fixed baffle, a piece of cake. Of course, the '09 up pan was less than $100 then; I think it is much more now but haven't checked. I had also decided to convert the exhaust to the '09 up cross under system and the '09 pan made that conversion much easier. Sorry, I don't have a silver bullet but if you have some cash laying around, consider the '09 up pan as a solution. Check Ebay, might find one reasonably priced there.
