I picked up a super nice, low mile 06 Road king custom aka FLHRSI last year and have been having a blast riding it around the FL Panhandle. The bike runs great, but the stock seat is a real pain in the butt (literally)for
anything over about an hour in the saddle. I'm 6'4" tall, so I'd really like to go with a Saddleman extended reach road sofa, but they say, they dont make one for the RKC. They do apparently make one for every other RK. Can anyone tell me the difference (seatwise) between the classic and the custom? Has anyone put a road sofa on there RKC?
I dont recall any difference other than the bags between the two bikes. The roadkings will have the short nose of the seat that makes it different from the eglides, but im pretty sure the only difference is the soft bags on the classic.
Some other seat makers are pricey, but look into C&C Seats, LePera, or Corbin. Corbin is a bit far from you, but they have a shop in Ormond Beach. Maybe a seat mod might be in the works from a local shop near you.
In the meantime, try a seat pad to help with the comfort. An Airhawk seat cushion is popular on here.
