I've been riding for 30 something years because I love to ride. I've ridden just about everything under the sun.Was always my primary transportation and most of the time my ONLY transportation. Rain, Sleet, Snow, who cares. Okay, the snow was no fun....
Got married, had kids, and worked tons of OT to stay a float. Wife and I still had bikes but just did not have the time to ride.Buddies gave me hell... Screw the job they said. Nope, caring for the family is my number one priority then me. Hopefully some will understand that.My current scooter has 7k miles on it and it's 8 years old. YES, that sucks but I can say that the 7,000 miles were great because I was not at work and I was with good friends having a blast.
Things at worked have mellowed out and my life is getting were I have more time. The old E-Glide is being resurrectedand my riding is about to start kicking into high gear. I'm looking forward to it!!!
I gotta buddy who's had his '07 EG since last January with I believe just a tad over 200 miles...he's scared sh*tless to ride it outa the neighborhood... Wears his Harley shirts though!
I know some guys that only ride in good weather, won't ride until they clean and polish the bike, won't touch a dirt or gravel road, everytime they stop out comes the dust rag.........I tell them them to ride the damn thing. Water or dirt won't kill it. I ride mine, get it dirty, wet, and full or bugs. A weekly wash gets it shiney and new again......go figure. Oh yeah I even ride without a Harley T-shirt sometimes.

I can't wait for the weekend toride it, but if I drove it every day then it would be no thrill when the weekend comes.
07 Ultra
I gotta dissagree with that statement, well at least for me it's always a thrill .
I tend to ride hard so riding everyday keeps my skills sharply honed and when I ride just for fun I'm on top of my game.
2000 EG Classic........130,000+ miles
I can understand what is being asked, I have pondered that question myself sometimes but like a lot of others here, I dont worry whether others are riding lots or just a little, all I do is enjoy my time riding ... regardless of weather I like to ride
everyone here enjoys riding, thats all that matters ... I am happy to speak to anyone regardless of what type of bike they have because they have the same thing in common with me, the love of riding a motorbike
I do wonder about people who buy a production made bike and hold onto it hoping it will be worth something in years to come .... they will have to wait a very long time I think and hope they have something special or different about their bike ... but each to their own

I also disagree, I ride everyday unless theres snow or ice on the roads. Have for 35 years, I try to get 10K or more a year. All my buds on the mountain ride as much as I do. My bike aint no show piece, its a 50 footer and shows miles and some wear.
Not for nothing, but worry about your own life. If someone wants to spend a lot of money on something and hardly ever use it, that's their business. I ride my bike when I want to, where I want to and for how long I want.
I bought a pool for my house and I sure don't spend all day, every day in it. Does that make me a pool poseur?
i dont razz anyone for how -when or what they choose to ride. i respect the fact that they ride.i find it to be a lifestyle and not a hobby. i bought the bike and then the rainsuit and sold my truck (wife has a car). i ride 24/7/365. only time i wont ride is if the conditions (hail or hi winds) are likely to hurt my baby.i will admit i find it funny when i see "self proclaimed bikers " that wont ride in the rain.also find it hilarious that someone would spend 30 to 50k on a "custom bike" from one of the local area shops just to ride it to bike nite. with the rake and lack of suspension on these things its a hoot watching someone try to ride these and look cool. hmmm was that a razz or an observation? oh well meant it as an observation. its thier choice to make.
