cruise control

Changed out the handle bars on the bike getting ready for trip out west, got the new ones on and went for test ride now the cruise will not lock up red light comes on but no green light any sugestions other than to the dealer leave on trip next monday.

Check for a pinched wire going to the housing. Sounds like it is not making contact/grounding.

Double check all wires for handle bars. Maybe wire came loose. Also check to be sure that all wires are tight into the connectors....

Check the two wires up next to the frame that plug into the throttle cable make sure they are in the correct spot, then go through the reset procedure. This happened to me when I put my apes on and I reversed these two wires and went through the cable slack reset procedure and all was ok after that.

Had the same problem when I changed bars, the fix was to redo the lash adjustments. Throttle cables when moved changed the position of the roll off switch and could not get the lash adjustment to work until I did a complete cable adjustment.

Lash Adjustment that is what it is called. Thanks EvilDave I couldn't think of the term off the top of my head, was having one of those brain fart moments.
