07 RoadKing do we own a lemon?
We purchased a 2007 RoadKing this June-since then we have had nothing but trouble with it. As Idownshiftto come to a stopthe bike stalls andwhenIfire itback upit won't idle. We have taking this bike to the dealership 3 times for this repair- they assure us it's fixed but I get back on and the same thing happens. I am NOT a newbie to bikes- I have a 76 shovel and have more than 25 years riding experience. Anyone out there have a suggestion? (Other than returning the bike and suing the dealership)....
Someone else posted the number to HD HQ. Call and start the complaint process with them as well. If you do have lemon laws in your state I would not recommend taking the bike anywhere but the dealer you purchased it from. You have a serious safety issue if the bike cannot be counted on to run after simply downshifting.
Let the selling dealer handle it and pursue a lemon law return if they can't fix it. I think most are 3 strikes and you're out type of situation. Perhaps you have a new bike in your future and they can eat their inability to correctly work on the bike to determine the problem.
Perhaps their techs don't downshift??

Sorry to hear. My RK Custom has been a jewel, no noises or clatters. The front brake squeals a bit. The bike has been awesome so far. Sounds like you need to find another dealer. Start complaining to the MOCO.
casique, does your front break squeal when you apply the brake? If so, have you tried swapping the rotors from left to right? Check and see if it has been done. It was a service bulletin I read on here a while back. I have a '05 and had the same issue. For mine, the dealer filled the chrome dome thing with some silicon/foam, and that stopped the noise. When I read about the bulletin, I took it in and had the rotors swapped, as well. I now have no squeal at all in my front brake. The silicon/foam worked for me, but I did the swap, just in case the silicon/foam ever bled out. Hasn't been a problem for me for quite some time. Maybe you should check it out.
very happy with my 07 RK Custom. No issues, heat dosnt bother me either.

Protection
The law states that the manufacturer must correct any flaw, at no cost to you, that occurs under any of the following conditions:
Within one year of the vehicle being sold.
Before the vehicle's odometer clicks out 12,000 miles.
While the express warranty is still valid.
By definition, the flaw must be something so substantial that it either plummets the car's value or makes the car unsafe.
If the Flaw Is Not CorrectedIf the kink in your car has not been rectified after three repair visits, or if your vehicle slumbers out of service for a total of 30 or more days, you may be eligible for a replacement vehicle of the same value or a full refund.
To initiate compensation, you need to alert the manufacturer of your intentions. If you are met with indifference or are completely brushed off, the Pennsylvania Automobile Lemon Lawâunder the backing of the state's attorney generalâgives you the green light to launch a lawsuit.
