I hereyou Choochoo, but there are too many people to whom money is no object, and just throw out things and buy a new one...
Just like the IDS thing, people should be sending MOCO a BILL for fixing this screwup... If they would juse admit a design flaw and issue a credit to get it fixed
loyalty for those customers would be returned... JMO..
OK I'm done.. and no I haven't bought anything to fix the can of marbles yet...

The air temp gauge isn't supposed to work. It's only there to provide balance so the dash looks nice

Just wait until you find the fuel gauge filling with condensation, this is also a "feature" that can't berepaired.

Don't let these small things irritate you. Save it for something bigger....like when it runs hot or makes bad noises

You must be new to Ultra's. As others here state, the air temp gauges are useless. If they work at all it is on the first ride of the day. Start the bike back up and it will almost always read past 100 degrees, even in the winter months. Harley is well aware of this, but they couldn't care less.

The smart thing for them to do is replace it with an oil temp gauge (like I and others have) and charge us the difference in the msrp.

They are the only business that I know of that screws with their customers on a regular basis and gets away with it 99% of the time. We (owners) gladly shell out big bucks to just make them run right. As bad as the automotive business is, you would never have this happen.

They (MOCO) saves money in sneaky little ways, ex: they remove the grab rails on 06-07 Ultra's, they tell you they don't fit. Well they do fit and they just saved $98 bucks, as they didn't drop the MSRP by $98 bucks...did they?

Do not get me wrong, I love my Ultra, just don't care for Harleys politics. If we banded together tomorrow they would be in deep S%^t. But that will NEVER happen.
