- i cant see why the RG would have a smoother ride/better handling then the RK, as the only thing that makes the RG a nice handling machine is the fixed fairing, and the RK doesnt have a fairing weight issue on the handling anyway. maybe biggs 99 just didnt have the mojo of an 07 bagger.
- just get a dead center fairing and have the best of all worlds?
It's all about aerodynamics. I ya haven't logged a fair amount of miles on one, you probably won't understand it.
If you have your windshield in place, there is air press on it at all times when it's moving & since it is attached to your fork, it does influence how the fro end feels. It just does.
If ya have your shield off enjoying some serious air flow, "you" become the object that is effected by the air and your hands are (supposedly) attached to the bars, so there it is again....
There is a big difference. Rent one & go ride some of your favorite roads - espically the ones with great corners..... then you'll understand..
[:@][:@][:@]thats it.... no more....nada.....all you with RG are banned from this forum. I must take a stand. I will not buy one. No matter how ugly they are. I will resist the dark side. I will not read anymore posts from you RGers. RESIST, RESISt, RESIst, RESist, REsist, Resist, resist....
OK, who wants to buy my SG. I want me one of them RG.
Have had 2 ofeach. Three if you count my 1981 FLT. The Rk is a very goodlooking traditional ride. The RG is the bike if you you plan to tour, no comparison. Looks are subjective and I don't pay much attention to other folks opinions, they don't pay my bills.
I had a 1993 Softail for 8 years, a Dyna FXDXT for a year, a Road King Custom for a year and now my Roadglide for 2 years. I wouldn't trade my Roadglide for all 3. This is by far the best bike I have ever owned. My wife hates the fairing....but she sure loves riding behind it. We just did Sturgis this year and it was so nice to have the tunes, cruise control and the protection of the fairing. Trust me....you would not be disapointed.
