those of you that have done it ....r u happy?? can you give me some insights ,,good /bad. love my king just doing so much slab ridingi think the extra protection & tunes might make me happier... thanks tommy nyc
I would welcome you and I think you would enjoy it. I do like the RKC as far as the best looking, but there is nothing like the handling of the RG, not to mention the tunes!! Good Luck.
I went from a '99 RKC to an '07 RG. No comparison in my opinion. The RG rides and handles so much better. My RKC was not exactly stock either. Progressive suspension on both ends, 18" wheels/tires, 95" kit with just under 100 on the tq side. Having the tunes, the nice comfy fairing to sit behind, and the cruise control makes all the difference in the world. You'll love it.
Just to play devils advocate as i sometimes ponder this very question:
- stuck with fairing 100% of the time on RG
- the RG is an aquired taste lookswise ;-)
- i cant see why the RG would have a smoother ride/better handling then the RK, as the only thing that makes the RG a nice handling machine is the fixed fairing, and the RK doesnt have a fairing weight issue on the handling anyway. maybe biggs 99 just didnt have the mojo of an 07 bagger.
- just get a dead center fairing and have the best of all worlds?
Well I kind of went that way - But I kept my '01RKC and use it as my daily local driver and the '07 RG for the week-end runs and longer trips...
The differance is like night and day... The Roady handles so much better the the RKC and more wind protection and love my tunes...
Homliest? I think that handle is reserved for the RK Custom with no mods on it. I do love the Road King but I wanted a real fairing and tunes. Try it you'll like it.
