Homliest? I think that handle is reserved for the RK Custom with no mods on it. I do love the Road King but I wanted a real fairing and tunes. Try it you'll like it.
Dude, lay off us rk custom owners. Isn't it bad enough that the MoCo has decided to get rid of the bike? LOL BTW, I bought my rk custom for how clean and smooth it looked. Now, with what little I have done, that look is slipping away. LOL
And, as far as the rg goes. I rented one, and it was just fine. Didn't excite me, at the time. But, I have been looking at them, lately. LOL If only the OL didn't think they were absolutely hidious, I might own one right now. LOL
And, FWIW, homeliest, not homliest. (spell check is that little button with the ABC and a check mark) LOL
i got an 07 ultra, ive been wishing i would of got a rk and just bought a detachable fairing with a radio that would give me the best of both worlds, on some of the 90 degree days that fairingwill keep your bodies core temperature up. I ride mine to work everyday that i can and when its hot out and i get to work and its hot inside the plant its hard to get my core temperature down on that day.

road king custom homeliest? ***** to you. i bought my custom for the reason that it didn't have all that gaudy chrome all over it. i know i have a road king, i don't need to see it on the front fender. i like not having those fender tips. the hard leather bags are way cooler than the hard fibreglass ones. the rear end is way cleaner with the thinner, more modern looking turn signal bar and bullet style turn signals as opposed to the one that doesn't look like its changed from the 50s. cruise control? i can add it if i need it. the only thing i would like is the tunes. i am considering getting an aftermarket detachable fairing (aka dead center, quadzilla, etc) but at this point, it is still just a consideration.
try it, i'll like it? maybe, but i still have 3-1/2 years to pay on the one i have now so i don't see anything changing in the near future. besides, with the v&h, se ac, pcIII, and ids, i love my bike as it is....
Don't buy a Road Glide! There are gett'in to be too many of these ugly bikes on the Road! Now I find out on this forum that my Black Cherry is "Purple". WTF an ugly "Purple" Road Glide!
Makes me want to.......................................Keep Her!
I really love the look of the Road Glide, but until my Road King projects are complete I can't even think about buying a second bike right now, and I am not sure I want to permanently mount a faring to my Road King.
You will have to get used to people snickering, and making insulting remarks behind your back about how homely your RG is vs. all the compliments you get on you're RK. Other than that they are pretty close...
