Default Seat removal question

I just bought some heat deflectors and in the directions it says you have to take the seat off. I have no idea how this thing comes off. I have a 07 EGC. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

One screw behind the passenger seat and maybe a strap across the seat with one screw on the side.

Do I have to take the tour pak off? I thought it would be more simple than this.

no need to remove tour pack, just fold up the passenger backrest pad so you can see where the screw is, I think its a big #2 or 3 philips head. It may be easier to remove one of the saddle bags to undo the strap that goes across passenger portion of seat. Then just pull up rear of seat where you removed screw from and slide the seat towards the tank.

Tight Fit... But you can get a screwdriver down there to get the seat screw... Remove one side of the hand strap and (if you have one) Drivers Back Rest.... Pull up from the back of the seat once TP cleared pull back and out...

I agree. After fighting with that stupid passenger strap that never gets used I finally wised up and got rid of it.

Yep, dumpin' my strap tomorrow. The wife never uses it anyways. Also, when you get the screw for the seat out, you can replace it with something like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harle...spagenameZWDVWThe guys name is Tom. He lives local for me, so I dropped by his house and picked mine up. He can set different stones in them that will match any color your bike happens to be. Mine looks awesome, IMO. And he makes them to last. Today I dropped it, and was sure the stone would have fallen out, but it was fine.

A guy told me something today I hadn't thought of. I was removing the seat, and had to grab the 7/16" wrench to remove the strap. He told me, what happens if you need to get under the seat in a hurry (ie fire or something with the battery), and I am on the road? So, tomorrow the strap comes off. LOL
