Hmmm......sumthin's strange here - \\;drop John a line, because IIRC, his stated warranty on the website is longer'n that. I think he got some bad info.

In my opinion it boils down to politics and economics....I have a choice of \\;four or more speakers.... J&\\;M for over $100, Hogtunes for over $100, Biketronics over $100, Hawg-Wired for over $100, a set of JBLs for less than $60-70 delivered. Not a hard choice when the differences to the average ear are very small. Not to mention that JBL Corp has been around for more than 60 years, so I think they may know a little about speakers and audio.

Why not use a sound analysis program for a computer to compare the speakers, a sound meter to show noise levels, etc. Listening to the speakers isn’t much of a test. Companies that continually say they test their stuff against the competition and their stuff “is the best” makes me throw the bullshit flag. I can test 10 sets of speakers and pick what I think is best and someone else can test those same 10 speakers and pick a different speaker as the best one. How much hearing loss does each “tester” have, what frequency range is their hearing loss, did they clean their ears that morning….blah blah blah.

I ran the JBLs for the last 8 months until my second HD Harmon-Kardon piece of **** radio’s LCD died. They sounded great and were much better than the stock speakers. I replaced the HK and JBLs with a Hawg-Wired Kit, Sony marine radio, and Kicker KS5.2 component speakers. The Kickers sound better than any speaker that I’ve heard in many many years and they only cost me around $85 shipped. Someone else may say same thing about Alpine speakers or Hogtunes or whatever. Who cares….to each his own.
