I would go with the big bore kit first. When you get to the point when you are looking at rims you might decide to go with a bigger tire then neet to spend more money on the wide tire kit and a new set of rims then. You might also find that you might need the bigger meat out back to get the traction after the engine upgrades.

Chrome it. Chrome won't get you home, but your bike that runs perfectly fine does, so add a little chrome to her. Like a lot of people say, it's really up to you, but i'd be down with some new wheels... That's what I'm kinda dealing with too. Plus... So what if it's bored out, what would that set you apart really, now a new set of wheels on the other hand, that's adding a little more character I'd say. Good luck on your decision, let us know.

Wheels.

A big bore kit is not going to add that much HP...not in HD form anyway. HD will let you spend 1500 bucks and you end up with 10 extra HP.
Guys like PhilM could give you real quick sound advice, but even he'lltell you..it cost a great deal of money to do right...you really have to work at it and it doesn't always go right the first, second, or fifth or sixth time. It's a real art to get these bike reliable and have great power numbers. Plus you got to do a lot of research to make sure you're getting the right stuff. Many spend upwards of 2500 bucks and only get 20-30 HP. For me that doesn't compute. Not knocking it or them...just isn't my thing

But wheels... instant gratification. If you are the kinda guy that likes positive comments from the rest of us...look around.
Only about 1% of the time someone will mention "hey nice HP numbers!" 99% of the time its "Dude your wheels (bike) rock!"

Just an opinion..wish you could do both. Least I wish I could...

I just went thru the same exact decision and went with a new set of wheels and chrome the front end, changed the calipers etc. I tossed it around for a while and since my warranty is in effect, made the decision a bit easier. Regardless, I'd prolly have still done the same thing.
It'll set your bike apart from the others and it'll look damn good! While the big bore is nice, I double anyone will tell you that big bore looks good ;-) My two pennies.

I agree -- your RKC is clean like it is --- get the motor work then go to bike night and do a wheelie like PhilM--- I honestly believe that wheels will get less expensive as more
manufacturersget in the game.

Big bore for sure. You've already got some nice looking chrome spokes on there and when you need to pass that slower traffic 2-up, sure is nice to have the power to do it quickly and cleanly.
