Have 1550 miles on mine. Front brake squeals but nothing else has come up. Runs great.

regards

I've had my SG for two weeks and 600 miles. None of the problems mentioned. Mine goes on the dyno next week with a SERT tweaking and I can hardly wait.

I have an early September production SG. I have 700 miles and have the front brake squeak, and a lot of vibration especially at idle. I did Stage I and download with V & H duals / oval slip ons. Have had it stall in slow traffic when hot. When I take it in for 1000 service I am putting in HD race Tuner and Dynoing it. Dealer states EPA on 2006 bikes has caused problems with after market pipes. Has found the Race Tuner and Dyno corrects roughness. Too bad I spent money initally on the download. Otherwise I really am glad that I purcahsed teh Street Glide.

Let me start by saying I love my flhx but...........I have had radio problems, shorted out inside the display screen after rain(still waiting for replacement)and I have had it at the dealer five times because the front brakes, they squeal like a stuck pig! They still have not cured that problem,I have heard the only real fix are floating rotors.Guess who gets to pay for them, will the MoCo. help?...NOT! At least my dealer(Daytona H-D) is doing what they can to make me happy,I would hope so I have bought six bikes from them over the years. Anyway I'll keep my fingers crossed that all the B.S is over.

Folks, keep in mind that H-D is in the motorcycle production business. In a world where customer satisfaction is key to continued operations they most certainly would not have fielded a bike with known problems. Like any production operation, there are always issues with new models or significant redesigns. My wifes 2004 Honda Accord (a great car) was recalled several times in the first year. The dealer handled it professionally and all repairs were accomplished without cost to me. That doesn't make Honda lousy cars. They run great and maintain there value more than most other cars. I think of H-D very similarly. They are great bikes and , with a few exceptions, are everything you expect when you buy. Afer evaluating my options, I chose to buy a 2005 Ultra because of issues with the 2006's. H-D will fix them but the bike didn't offer any new features that I thought I needed.

I think your issue should be does the dealer professionally satisfy your problems. You most certainly have every right to expect that. All dealers are not created equally, don't stop until your recieve satisfaction. But before you disregard all H-D's, remember why you chose your bike in the first place; if your reasoning hasn't changed stick with it. If it has, sell that bike and move on. As sharp as the SG's look, I suspect there are may folks willing to take on your troubles. Good luck with your pursiut.

I think that is where the difference lies in that if you have a dealer that is OK, he will take care of an issue in a reasonable time frame. The problem is that the HD dealers are more concerned with bottom line profits than correcting the problem right the first time. I speak from experience and have yet to find a dealer in my area that can and will do the job correctly the first time around. If it's not for excuse reasoning , then the tecks are not up to speed. Either way the job is not done properly and that's where a reputation is built.

I have acura autos and have had for the past 9 cars, and never once did I take it in for any recall that wasn't done correctly the first time with a great attitude and courtesy along with a loaner car if needed, unlike the HD dealers in this area who seem to feel after the sale is done and your check clears that you take a number and wait. Mayber they should take a few lessons from the imports on how to do business. It seems the stock holders come first and the customer next.

Why isn't HD standing behing the various problems like with cam bearings for instance and a few other issues in the past in the form of a recall. They have the attitude that if it blows up, we'll fix it, but if it doesn't , then you're on your own. No measures were taken for an issue that they knew was a problem area. In my opinion, better service after the sale is more important than the sale itself, which leaves a big number of the dealers in the area of not doing the service they are performing properly. It seems that for every dealer that has a good rep for great service done properly, there are two that go in the opposite direction with poor service, shorting fluids, skipping services in some areas and generally overlooking things that should be checked or adjusted during a service .

I just feel that the HD dealers have a long way to go in the customer relations department. They have an attitude that we need them when in reality , they need us , the people that buy their product or where would they be.

I can't see much excuse for "new model problems" on an SG...it's a bloody EG Classic with out the trip trunk...common problems with things that change from
model year to model year are direct indications of poor development and poor quality control..possibly cost cutting...for which there really is no excuse on a $20k bike.

I believe your vibration is coming from your front motor mount. Go to your dealer and have him install the new version. Don't let him tell you the old mount still looks good cause that don't mean a thing. The new mount will make the bike feel much smoother especially in the floor boards.
