The average HD owner is 47 and makes just over $80,000 a year (this is the median income and is from HD by the way). So the average owner isa dentist driving his kids around Suburbia. The days of the "ol' biker" w/ nothing to lose are long gone. Good luck buying a Harley if you don't have any money. So I don't think anyone can say a thing about what vehicle is sitting next to your Harley because I am guessing most people driving a Harley also own: a minivan or an SUV to drive the kids around.
I have been using Synthetic for the last few years. The problem is I change out the dino for the synthetic as soon as I get the bikes so I don't witness the improvement.
I tell you what, youbuy whateveryou want, I will do the same, and we will all be happy.

I just changed my oil, tranny and primary in my 08 ultra to syn 3 and will let you know after I have ridden it for a bit. I do like the syn oil however.
Just for the record, Syn3 is a blend, not a 100% synthetic lubricant; it's about 60% synthetic, apparently, and 40% conventional oil. One informative post on it is at http://www(dot)v-twinforum(dot)com/forums/showthread.php?t=24547
This forum blocks links to the v-twin forum, for some screwy reason - put periods where the (dot)s are in that link; very interesting reading.
I don't have a dog in the hunt, but I had it in my '08 UC, and when I discovered this information, I dumped it and switched to M1 VT in the crankcase, Lucas gear in the xmission. If I'm going to pay synthetic prices for the oil I use, it's gonna' be for an oil that IS synthetic.
