Default '07 SG Handlebar Issue

Hey folks:
I'm new to this forum and I have an issue that I could use some input on...
I purchased an '07 Street Glide this July, (103 BB, SE AC, VH 2 to 1 ProComp exhaust), and I love it. I get this stupid grin on my face every timeI'm in the saddle. I've put over 6000 miles on it in in 3mo. The only issue I have at this time is my riding position. I getan unbelieveble upper back and neck ache after riding a couple hundred miles and it is because of the position of the stock Handlebars. I had a Heritage Softail B4 my SG and I like to put my feet on the HW pegs and lay back when I ride.

I knowit's becausemy arms arefully streached and I end upwith an extended reachfor my Grips when I'm in this riding position. I need to replace the Handlebars to a set that is more accomidating to my riding position. I need them to pull back more toward the rider but at the same height and wrist position as the stock bars. I wouldn't mind if they would be a little wider as well. I would prefer that they would not restricked my line of sight with my fairing mounted mirrors but would replace the fairing mounted mirrors to bar mounts if the new barswould get me the riding position I need.

I have talked with my local HD dealer about this and they have had several suggestions, one of which is to just lower the stock bars to bring them closer to the rider. I sat on a SG that had this done and it lowers the grips to a point that is too close to my legs and still does not bring them back far enough. They also suggested other bars but they have no way to set them up on a display so that I can get a feel for them. I don't want to spend the money on new bars and braided cables and find that it still isn't what I need.

Any Suggestions??

I installed the Khromewerks 300505 on my 08 Ultra. Big job but it is definitely worth it. There are a couple of others on here who have done the smae thing. Search post or ultra handlebars, good info there...

Thanks for the info Bo.

Questions;
Will these bars change my wrist position?
Will I need to replace my faring mounted mirrors?
