Shift? You mean this thing has more that one gear? No wonder I've been running 5,000 rpm at 40 mph.
Thanks for your help.

If you shift at 2500 rpm it will also lubricate the motor a little better. It gets the oil pump spinning faster and gets more lubrication to the motor. At least thats what I was always told by the old school harley mech.

So sticking with that same theme....if ya shift at 5000 you'll get TWICE as much oil as at 2500..........Right?

Shift where ever ya like, providing your not lugging it. It's different for everyone, but as most state...using it under 60 is a pretty useless unless your just trolling along a turnpike.

Check out the manual as it does have some guidlines listed, albeit hard to find (when I thought the same!).

Now seems to fit as shown below

2nd by 25
3rd by 35
4th by 45
5th by 55
and you guessed it..
6th by 65.

After playing around I found that coincidentally these numbers seemed to work easily and fit most occasions.

First gear: twist the wick, hang on tight...

When the front wheel comes back down, SHIFT !

Repeat as necessary until ya run outta gears.

...or until ya run outta road?
