Default Police handle Bars

I sat on a Road King Police yesterday and really liked the feel of the Handle Bars compared to my 05 Classic. They were closer to reach, hand position felt more comfortable/natural, and my back wasn't put in a stretch. The HD parts man said they were the same as the Road King Custom Beach Bars but I am skeptical about that. So I am asking: Does anyone know the Part Number for Road King Police handle Bars? Thanks

I sat on a RK police bike at the CW show in Seattle a week ago. The Harley rep said the bars were Heritage bars. Maybe it's a local Seattle thing, but I advise some more checking just to be sure.

My dealer said that the police bikes come with Heritage bars. I'm going to change in the spring. I looked at the RK tall bars next to the Heritage bars and couldn't tell any difference. No need to change lines or cables with either bar.

I believe that from 02 onwards, the RK bars are slightly forward. On mine I loosened the clamps and pulled the bars back inline with the suspension fork. This made the reach about 2" closer to me. They feel and look good. Then loosened and adjusted all hand controls to feel right. If you pull the bars back any further than inline with the front fork, they will touch the speedometer housing on full lock.

Brian.
