Has anybody else noticed that the majority of problems seem to coming from 06-08 models ????? Why all of the trouble with fairing brackets and motor mounts now. I didn't think they had any major changes from 99-06.
Fairing brackets started breaking back in 1996 when they redesigned the fairing. Just a plain weak and ignorant design.
The front motor mount is the exact same one used on the 1980 FLT. However, the current batch of the motor mounts have been manufactured in China.
More and more people are riding Harleys now. More and more people are using the internet....so I think the communication between riders have greatly increased over the past few years.
Thanks to the politicians and global economy! That is why we are having trouble with lead paint on kids' toys and crappy parts manufactured by a bunch of Communist's!
Fire the lot of them and elected some new idiots to take their place or create TERM limits....oh my gawd I just realized i'm on my soapbox. Ok, back to the forums already LOL!
I think you will find a lot of complaints posted by new or very low time Harley riders who do not or will not take the time to learn the systems of their machine.
There are quite a few people out there who should not own a motorcycle.
What problems ont he '08's are you talking about here?
Seriously, I've not had so much as a blip on the radar regarding problems.
Keep it long enough.....and put plenty of miles on it. Eventually and most likely.....the broken fairing brackets and a busted front motor mount are bound to happen. Just wait......
I think they're complaints and not really problems.......
Running hot.......... Noisy trans..........
It's a problem when there is a bunch of a certain models in the service department for the same thing breaking. (hate to bring it up but........remember the cam bearings!! ouch! that's gonna leave a mark!) Now that folks was a problem! and the Motor Company stood by and fixed it!
EVERY vehicle I've owned has had problems of some kind or another. My wife's 2005 Chrysler Minivan had so many problems, I traded it in for an '07 last February because my wife was tired of it... not me.
The new one has problems too, none of which are serious in nature.
We purchase very large, air cooled engined machines and expect them to be "cool".
