The problem is I now know why they are stock on the '08's. I just had one put on my '07 Road King. Very nice. It allows you to shift according to the owners manual without chattering like crazy. It has smothed the bike out very nicely. The problem is the MOCO should step up and put them on all of the '07's. However my guys at Seminole Harley in Sanford did what they could to make me a happy customer. Thanks guys!!
This whole IDS component is something that is really getting a lot of press. I too, shelled out the bucks for an item that a reputable company would have taken care of. No, they don't have to go back several years to correct every problem with their motorcycles, just the very obvious mistakes they make. I now have so much moneytied up in my 07 making it right, I willnot be buying a new one for at least a couple more years.Maybe some other brand next time. A couple hundred has cost the MOCO several hundred in the long run. No wonder the buying public has no loyalty to buy American. Toyota is the the #1 automobile in America today MOCO should pay attention.
yeah im a fan of Seminole HD. service is great, bought the bike from Orl HD but been goin to Seminole since for everythingh else. will buy the next bike from them tho. have met those "i dont have an issue" people when talkin bout the IDS but i keep telling them they will notice a big diff anyway if they do the install
I had mine put on today. I agree that they should step up and put them on all the '07's but it wont happen. I was thinking about doing it myself butmy dealercharged me 299.00. I thought that was fair.

Maybe to an extent but the new Camry and Tundra (I think) just got knocked for reliability and Ford was rated most reliable. Maybe someone is listening.
I too bought mine at Orlando Harey, to much of a run around with a major problem. Actually Gator Harley in Leesburg took care of the major problem. They are first rate as well. But the boys at Seminole are top shelf and alot closer to home.
I finally googled IDS to find out what it was (Isolated Drive System). I have an 07 RK (my first Harley). Am I right in assuming that it is basically a form of cush drive with rubber blocks to dampen the snatching in the drive train. Wow, my first bike (1973 Honda 350) had one of these and so did every bike in between including my current Ducati. This is something new for Harley??
I may need to look into one once I take care of the new seat and backrest for my wife.
