Those prices are just sick and wrong.
Myself I'm not rich I prefer the old fashion way; buy a $18,000 bike and make it my way.The extra $18,000 will buya lot of partsand createlot of funinstalling them andgive me alot of pride to have in a bike I put together; not bought.
But hey that's me.
I saw the same bike in my dealer today. I'm on my 1st HD and it's been fun to decide what to add and choosing what's most important first. Having said all that if you are like me and not very mechanical it would probably be cheaper to by the SE. It sure is a gret looking bike!
Mine was a little less out the door, 07 SE Ultra, I had an 04 but this is twice the ride, with just a Fuel Pak, Mufflers and the Retrofit IDS pulley, 500 mi at a loafing speed of 75-80 mph seems like a trip to the store, I have a riding Buddy who has $32,000 invested in his 07 Ultra and when he sells it will still bring Basic Ultra Price.
i would buy one if i could afford it. my buddy hasa 2001 screamin eagle RGand i thought he was crazy when he bought it. he had some of the chrome pieces start flaking and they where all replaced under warranty.....that kinda helps justify the price in my mind.
I was at Bruce Rossmeyers in Daytona and they had a SE Ultra for 55,000 (2008). VERY proud of it if you ask me. It looked good but not 55,000 worth.
I wouldn't buy a t-shirt from Bruce Rossmeyer, aka: Fat Bastard...he's a greedy SOB. I guess some rich person in West Palm will walk in and buy his CVO bikes for 55K and not think twice. He's gotten worse in the past couple of years...in 06, he was getting 40K for CVO ultras with a MSRP of 32.5K...people bought 'em. I just won't give people like that any of my hard earned money.
well saw one in our local dealer last may(2008)se ultra cayon copper/stardust silver, was in there getting my new speedo for my wide glide, telling my wife maybe next year, next day found out my wife went back and put a deposit on it didn't want to spend 35k, her response you only live once lets enjoy ourselves now.so yes i did spend 35k for a motorcycle. was it worth it imo hell yeah. ride safe enjoy life.
Saw some guy riding one about a week ago.....sharp bike.
However, the price of them is totally rediculous to me. For that price, I'll buy a new car and keep my 1998 Ultra.
Hell, my first house cost less than that bike does......
Yup mine too.. In fact my first house cost me 23k and my glide classic if i include the insurance into the deal for the first year was almost 20k.. Just doesnt seem right does it
