SE Ultra $36,995
I walked in to my dealer yesterday (C&S Nashville) to find that they had been sold and saw a SE Ultra in the white and silver. It was a nice looking bike but $36,995! Where do they find people gullable enough to buy these things? That's $400 less than 2 EGC's! In '06 you got a 6-speedinstead of a 5-speed and a 103 with a stroker crank. Now you get the standard 6-speed and bolt on 110 kit and few chrome do-dads but not 16k worth of do-dads!
If you add up all the parts on a CVO bike, it would cost a person WAY more just in parts, not to mention labor, to take a stock bike to the same place.
Lot's of people out there who are either willing, or don't know any better, and will pay over MSRP...some dealers, like Fat Bastard down in Daytona, charge 10K or more over MSRP...I guess if he can get it, more power to him, but he'd never see a dime of my money. MSRP + freight and maybe set up is a fair price for a CVO, and there are dealers who will do that, just have to call around and find one.
Believe me, there is still plenty you can do to a CVO to personalize it to your liking...
Are they overpriced? No more so than any other HD motorcycle, which are all overpriced, IMO. Look at what you can get for 20-25K in a BMW, Wing, etc...much more bike for the money. BUT, they have no SOUL!!
It kills me to see a bike priced over MSRP but ultiamtely who is to blame, the consumer in my opinion. No most of us won't but it's the folks that will and the recent hype on high dollar bikes that sends these prices thru the roof. And FWIW the 110 engine is not a bolt on option, it's a little more envolved than that.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Of all the dealers I,ve visited, I cannot find one in stock. southern Indiana, northern KY. or se Ohio. Wife and I were looking for a CrystalCopper and Black Onyx. Found a white one. Wife didn,t like it. Still looking for the right one.
Dealers know what colors and how many they are going to get, and a general idea of when they will receive the bike....if you want one, that's the only sure way to get it. The anniversary color is really nice this year on the CVO bikes....looks nothing like the "regular" anni colors. It is much darker and has gold flakeand gold stripes...very nice!!
Regardless of what people think/say, these bikes are relatively rare when you think that only about 1800 of the Anniversary SEUC3 will be built for the entire world, and only about 4200 of all SEUC3's altogether. Springers and Dyna's are a little bit easier to get than the touring bikes.
