With the 08, popping the fuel tank is easy and you don't have to drain. The rocker box gaskets are a heck of a lot cheaper than $112 it will cost for adjustables. I intend to pop the cams in this winter and then save up for the 103 for next winter. What do ya'll think about just re-using the stock pushrods and saving some coin? There's no need to remove the pushrod covers is there?
If you don't mind doing the extra work than by all means do it that way. I always replace them with time savers and just cut the old ones. It's really just a time thing and last chance of damage taking anything else a part.
I reused the stock one when I did the BB & cams. I no most people are programmed to use adjustables (I know I was) but my mechanic said 'Why waste the money, there's nothing wrong with the stock ones'. Made sense to me. Now if you're milling heads, using a much thinner head gasket, etc.. then that's a different story.

Unless you are going radical with the cam use stock. With the adjustables you have one more thing to adjust or go wrong and are adding weight to the valve train to have to move.
I agree; use the stock ones so long as they're okay with whatever cams you're installing. I'm doing some headwork on my bike this winter. When I put it back together I plan to re-use the stockers rather than re-installed the adjustables. If the top's coming off, it's a lot easier to drop in the stock ones than to screw around adjusting the adjustables---and you'll never wonder if you got them right (I'm a little obsessive this way).
Especially being easier on an 08, definitely re-use the stock pushrods. You hear tell of easy installs loosing up, plus the stock ones don't need to be adjusted. BTW...be sure to mark them and put them back where they came from. The stock pushrods are not all the same lenght.
