I didn't have the wind noise issue keeping the vox open. I also have to admit, I don't read the manuals but one thing I did spot was that there is the one mic cover for half helmets (or wind basically) and the other mic cover for full face set ups. I never tried any other but the one for half helmets (round one). Also, try rotating the mic cover..there is definitely a proper direction. I don't know if this will help, but it may be worth a try because I did not experience the same.

I saw the other mic cover but just thought it was a spare. Quite a bit thicker. Probably the ticket.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, that beep drove me crazy . It is a simple fix thank god. when you turn the unit on hold and press both volume buttons simultaneously and hold for approximately 3 seconds. you will hear a beep. this will fix your problem, and will be riding large like BOB.
I get that beep too when I riding solo. I thought it was the unit losing connection with my cell phone all the time. I'll have to try this fix.
