I love mine as well. 500 miles days used to get really tiring on my RKC, not on the RG. That fairing is the real deal. I luv ridin' ugly.

The Roadglide is a LOVE IT or HATE IT. The single most asked question I get from SG/EG/RK guys is "Doesn't the fixed fairing mess you up? I could never get used to that, the light doesn't let you see around a curve when you turn like does on my streetglide........."

What the #*^^*#$? With batwing fairings the light does follow the front tire, but the at speed the press to turn accually deflects the light slightly in the opposite direction. As far as the fixed fairing messing me up, I respond with "so, you spend alot of your time stairing down at your fairing to make sure it's turning with you and NOT ON THE ROAD???" Head and eyes up @$$hole..........

yes you sit up just like any of the other tourer's, the bars might be a little of a reach unless you have long one's, solved this problem w/a driver's backrest, now the road is one.......

It took me all of 10 minutes to get used to the fixed fairing. How much do you actually turn the bars anyway while riding? You will notice the fixed fairing more when you are moving the bike around in the garage more than on the road, One thing I do like about the RG is the longer distance between the rider and the fairing. Some people may not like that, I do. It makes thebike feel more roomy if that makes sense. As far as how ugly the bike it, I disagree of course. Can't really see much anyway while I'm riding it.

I just bought my first RG too coming from a Road King Custom. I got lucky and found a 2006 with 1570 miles on it and it already had the fairing lowers, and tour pac added. The day I picked it up it was only about 37 degrees out and I couldn't believe how warm you stayed with those lowers. My brother and I went for a 100 mile ride and switched for about 20 miles. He has an 05 ultra and I couldn't believe how cold I got with the wind hitting my knees, as he couldn't believe how warm my bike was. The other side to that coin is I won't be riding in the summer with those lowers, becasue I rode the other day in 70 degree weather and it gets hot. I love my RKC but I can see doing some serious miles on this bike with all the comfort in the world.

Any suggestion beyond road testing a bike, is simply opinion.... most of us will tell you to buy what we bought... myself included....
FOR buy a road glide because it doesn't look like every other bike
AGAINST don't buy a road glide because they don't look like every other bike

People who are fixated on a windshield, or a fairing, will freak the first time the move the handlebars and the windshield doesn't turn... this usually last maybe one minute... maybe more depending on how many times one repeated the third grade

Biggest drawback to the RG... it's a moron magnet..... If I had a nickle for each time some fool thought I was riding a metric, I'd have a bunch..... one guy saw my bike as he climbed out of his girlfriend's car and asked me... "when do the REAL bikes arrive?" I gave him a blank stare , he added.. "you know... the HARLEY riders".... I laughed and said yeah.... i always wished I had a harley.... and walked away....
