I started looking at the RG just for the simple fact that every other bike around here had a batwing fairing on it, I wanted something different. When I picked it up from the dealer, had about 5 grand in add ons, most aren't noticable, still looking to add more. Got it around Memorial day and have put on 8500 (s)miles so far, only 32 degrees outside now otherwise I'd be riding right now. Love the crap out of this bike!

I've had 3 different Harley's before my RoadGlide and I wouldn't ride anything but a RoadGlide now.

Thanks to all who replied. From what I can seemost allof those who have them, love them. I also know it is a matter of preference and that's the way it should be. I think I'll fimd a dealer that has one to test or rent because I have never been on a HD of any kind, could be I need to ride all of the touring models.I will have a king ultra tour pack installed and am wondering, will the tour pack have any graffics to match the graffics on the RG or will it just be the matching color? Where I live I don't see too many RG's I thought I would like to have something different. As it is getting closer to winter, I think I'll wait until spring to make a move OR I could move further south.

Thanks Again and be safe.

There is only the small upside-down Nike Swoosh stripe on the '07 and '08 RG so no stripe on the trunk. Just color match as you see in my pics above and here;

I thought long and hard before I bought my RG. I'd been seriously considering a Road King for quite a while but when it came time to pull the trigger I began to look very closely at the Road Glide.

It has a tach plus an oil pressure and a voltage gauge. I didn't like the fact that most of the Harley's didn't have tachs. I gotta have a tach, bike or truck. That's just me. I didn't like the idea of a faring at all but when I got to thinking about it I slowly got used to the idea. The frame mounted faring made more sense to me than the fork mounted. With the fork mounted I figured you'd always be turning against the wind and that you'd feel the wind a lot more. The fact that the frame mounted is stationary has not been a problem at all. I'm always looking where I'm going, not at the faring. It's no different than when you are driving a car or a truck. The front of the truck is fixed too isn't it?

It came down to a value based decision. The Road Glide MSRP was $300 more than the Road King but came with a full compliment of guages, electronic cruise control and a great sound system. I bought an '07 because I knew the '08's were out and they wanted to more the '07's out. So I managed to get them to come down nearly 2K on the '07.

I ride mine around town every day and she handles great but I bought a touring model because I wanted to be able to take long trips. I'd had the bike for two weeks and made a trip from Austinto Dallas (about 200 miles)over Labor Day weekend. I put about 750 miles on the bike that weekend alone. On the ride back I hit rain - hard rain - about a mile from the house. When I finished the ride I peeled out of my wet rags, grabbed a beer from the fridge and kicked back in the recliner. I was not tired or sore from the ride and found the entire experience to be thoroughly satisfying. I'm planning a ride to Las Vegas in the next few weeks - about 2600 miles round trip - and am really looking forward to it.

I am very happy with the bike and recomend the Road Glide to anyone serious about riding -either around town orlong distances.

Not sure what you mean, if you mean is there a small backrest from the back lip of the riders seat, then yes. See my above pic, it has a bucket shape to it. That is an H-D Sundowner seat

Still not sure what you mean?? You are not bent over like you would be on a sport touring machine, part sportbike part tourer. I sit upright as much as my buddy on his Ultra does.
