Im thinking about putting a cover on my front fairing for this winter (06 ultra) Just wondered if anyone has had any issues with them like scraching paint or scuffing it up????
I have never done it on a bike, but I know the bras leave scratches in a cars paint. Little bits of dust get under the covers, and can make a ton of very fine scratches. Some you can buff out, but that is not always the case. IMO, if you decide to cover your fairing, you might be better off leaving it on all the time.
I have the bra on my RG. It looked great and was tight all summer. It was easier to clean the bugs off than haveing to do the whole bike. The big thing was to make sure you put it on right. no short cuts. As long as it is installed tight I had no problems with it. I took it off to change my speakers and there wasn't any damage to the paint. The instructions say to wash and wax the fairing before you put it on. I guess this cuts down on any paint damage
