try putting your feet up on hwy pegs or on the crash bar and see if that helps.
Your leg placement does make a difference with the wind. It is a motorcycle and there will be wind isn't that why a dog sticks his head out the window? I have not rode any other bike for long rides, but the wind not hitting you dead on should be a relief.
Howdy. I'm an owner of a Skirtster Roadster but have rented a 07 Road Glide for a trip I'm taking tomorrow. This is my first time riding a Big Twin and would like advice on any peculerlarities(sic) of the Road Glide. How accurate is the gas gauge? Can the windshield be adjusted. The wind at highway speeds buffets the hell out of the top of my head. Should I even bother with the stereo system? Anything I should know about the cruise control? Any help is appreciated.
So have you made your down payment on your new Road Glide yet??[sm=biker.gif]
The gas guage isn't nowhere near being accurate, like others here already stated. My 07 (completely stock) gets about 45 mpg. My fuel light usually start shining at 170-175 miles. When I stop and fill it up,it'll have about a gallon left in the tank. I try to fill up every 175 miles by the odometer and haven't been left stranded yet. If you get the 08, then you probably want to look for gas at about 200 or so, just to be safe, I would guess. You'll probably want to stretch long before then anyhow.
Welcome to the dark side.
Oh, as to not break the code: YOU DO NOT WANT A ROAD GLIDE!! THEY'RE UGLY AND THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE P.O.S. HARLEY EVER MADE!!!
