Handlebars ?
2007 SG: Came to a stop on the bike this weekend and looked over the top of the windshield and my bars shifted down. Without running it to the dealer which is 90 miles how do I get to the bolts to tighten them down. It looks like I can get to them from the dash but do I have to take the main switch housing off and how is that done? If it's more complex I can run it to the stealer but I'd rather not.
Remove the outer fairing, pull the radio and pull the ignition and remove inner fairing cap to gain access to all 4 allen bolts. You can reach the rear two by pulling the radio, but the front ones you need to pull the ignition and fairing cap to gain access. Here's a link with a pictorial that will help you

I would never dig into a bike without a factory service manual. It will save your *** in the future if you plan on wrenching your own bike. I found mine on Ebay for a fair price. I also bought a factory parts book at the same time. Take my advice, get them.
I also like to sit down the night before I tear into something and read the manual. If the job looks tough, I get on the forum and ask for help. If it looks too tough, I'll get help or take it to the dealer.
This is just how I operate. I've always been the kind of guy who used directions. You may be different. Each to their own.
Good luck,
Steve L.
