You need to remove your ignition switch and pull the cap. You also have to pull the radio to get at the other half of the bolts. The cap is easy to pull but you need follow a technique when removing the switch. The radio is easy to pull as well but you need to pull the outer fairing and remove the 4 cap screws holding the radio in. It then comes right out.

The proper way to do this is a bit involved. You first have to disassemble the ignition switch. After doing this you have to remove the fairing cap that is under the ignition switch. This will allow you access to the handlebar clamps. It is highly likely that you may run into problems with the ignition switch and the alignment of the switch. The use of a service manual would be very helpful for this job.

Another option that may give you access to the clamps is to remove the outer fairing and then remove the radio to gain access to the clamps. Removal of the bolts is not necessary. Loosening 2 of the 4 bolts will allow you to adjust the bars.
