I would like to adjust the handlebars and need to remove the fairing cap. I know that there are two screws, one on each side.
Do I need to take the ignition switch off? I removed the two screws but it seemed to hang at the switch. I do have a service manual but it is unclear to me about the removal.
also you might need to take off the outer fairing and remove the radio in order to get to the other two handle bar bolts. Maybe you just loosen the front two to adjust but not sure.

just the 2 close bolts
loosen, adjust, tighten
put a towel of blanket on the tank for preotection
if you go low, make sure that the controls cannot be pushed into the tank- the mounts are on rubber bushings and the bars will move when pushed, like moving the bike around the garage
