It's really rather simple and consists of just a few parts.
Imagine a cast metal pie pan-looking device that bolts to the wheel hub in place of the belt sprocket....The pan hassome dividers castinto the inside of the pan like wedge shaped pieces of pie....Then insert some thick rubber slugs between those dividers and from there place a belt sprocket designed to engage the rubber slugs, but not touch the metal pan itself.
Alls that's different from then on is the sprocket will fall off in your hand if you were to remove the wheel....If you ever need to service it, all that might be required is new rubber slugs which only cost about $3.50 each
