I'm also trying to decide which system to use!!
I just installed today the SE Stage 1 kit and Rinehart 2 into 1 pipes on my '08 EGlide Classic.
Being a "newbie" to the F.I. bikes I assumedthe V&H FuelPak was pre-programmed with maps for use only with V&H pipes;is this correct? or can the FuelPak be used with any combination pipes and a/f?
Dealer charges me $100 for one dload, might as well get a FuelPak for +/- $200.
Cybermunster - Vance & Hines offers many "maps" for the FuelPak for their own pipes/mufflers as well as those from other manufacturers. You choose the map that you need from their website or from the included documentation and it takes about 5 minutes to program the FuelPak as part of the installation process (it's not a download, but rather a printed map that you key into the unit). It's very easy. V&H has been good to continue adding maps for a wide selection of pipes/mufflers from other manufacturers as they continue their testing. Before you buy the FuelPak, you will want to be sure that they offer a map for your particular combination. I have found that you can use just about any of the high-flow intakes that are offered (K&N element in stock housing, SE Stage 1 intake, Ness Big Sucker) and get good results with the FuelPak.
Roadrage - sounds like you found a great combination. I had similar results with the FuelPak with the V&H Oval Slip-Ons and the SE Street Performance Touring Mufflers. Excellent mapping and significant improvement in performance. I decided to experiment with the HD Stage 1 Download when I got the SE Muffers and have had equally good results. When I piggybacked the FuelPak on top of the Stage 1 Download, I didn't experience an additional performance improvement so ended up selling the FuelPak. If I had it to do all over again, I would just stick with the FuelPak and skip the download.
I currently have the SE Perf Slip-ons, Zippers A/C, and Stage 1 download on my 06' RKC. Have you all noticed that much of a difference after adding the Fuelpak? is it worth installing?

Seeing as your riding and PRE EPA Putt you should be alright with the stage 1 download... '07s & '08s have to comform to the new EPA regulations which the stage 1 download still leaves the system on the lean side.. The FuelPak corrects this problem...
With your '06 you would get better results with a Power Commander III - Or a SERT where you have more control on the settings - Timming - Fuel - Rev Limiter - etc...
FuelPak is a very limited\basic system that is a very effective FuelManagement system
