vance and hines

I am among the minority in that I still have a stock bike. I am interested in getting some vance and hines pipes. My question is, what would happen if I installed vance and hines pipes without any other mods?

You would have a better sounding bike. As long as you don't go with a high flow air box you shouldn't have to do anything else. Don't expect any kind of a performance boost though.

What year and model bike do you own, and is it carbed or fuel injected??

Like Windup said, you should be okay. You may want to add a highflow air cleaner and a Fuel Pak or other fuel management system down the road.

I've got V&H Ovals on my EG... nice deep sound at idle or cruise, nicely louder running through the gears.

Had V&H Turndowns on my SG... Also a nice sound, a bit louder than the ovals.

Do the slip ons. If you don't like them, you can easily change back. Listen to other bikes and find the sound you like. You won't have to make any other changes. You may want to, though.
