What is that round thing sticking up from the top of the hard saddlebag? I have seen about 10 of these now...Is it ventilation? Is it an antenna? It looks about 2-3 inches in diameter and seems to be raised up about 1 inch off the center of the bag. Just curious. Is it a really cool thing that I need?
I think you are talking about the handle that is used on the police bikes. It has a lock and twists to open the lid like a door ****. (I never have owned one so I am kind of guessing here.)
You are talking about the saddle bag lids from a police bike, They don't have the saddlebag latch on the side like the regular bikes do. No this isn't something you need ..... or want. Most people try to change the tops on these bags to get rid of the puck !!!
Or it's the latch **** on the vastly superior () police version of the bags. Down side is that you have to look at the "puck". Up side is that they are about a hundred times easier to use. Including one-handed on the fly opening and closing. This is my favorite part of the cop bikes actually.
Thanks for the answers, event the smart a$$ ones. I have seen the police style bikes without the "hockey puck" before and now that I know what these are, I have seen ones with them.
