Cool!!!
ordered the Kury/HD chrome regulator cover for my UC with the premium cooler. Since the part number for the premium cooler wasn't one of the ones listed that the cover wouldn't fit, thought i would try it. Course, then found out after a lot of cussing, swearing, busted knuckles, etc. that the chrome cover for the regulator won't work with the cooler since the hoses are in the way of the attachment bolts for the cover.

Forget the chrome filter and buy a nice Purolator PL10241 and paint it black.

That is why I use the K&N filter with a nut on the end. Never go back to anything else.

acedantinne,
How does the casthub with the hose connections mount to the oil filter mounting flange? It appears that mounting the radiator is straight forward. Can youexplain how it all mounts up?

Brewdog, A simple gasket on the oil filter flange and cooler adapter. Held on with aoil filter screw/nut. The kit has a replacement for the oil filter nut/adapter. Just use a socket unsrew old oil filter adapter. Apply gasket oil cooler flange per instructions, srew in new oil filter adapter. Torque screw 7/16 hex to 14 to 16 foot pounds.
Due to 1/2 inch extension I added to 2 pounds more of torque. Mine is 18 pounds.Took around 40 minutes to install. That includes taking off old oil filter.
The Kent Moore oil filter tool works just fine. I have no problem installing or removing oil filter.

The "thermostat" is in the adapter that goes on with the oil filter mounting screw. Opens up at 185 degrees. The one I have doesn't open until 200, I checked it against the oil temp gauge, but the gauge could be off a bit too. It doesn't help much when stopped in traffic, but really brings the temps back down fast once you're moving again.
As others have suggested, use a K&N filter, it has a nut welded on the end of the filter body, makes it a snap to get off.
Caution 1: If you plan to install the Kuryakyn cylinder base chrome cover with the oil filter and HD Premium Coolerin place, the filter is too close to the front of the Kury cover and you will have to remove the base cover everytime you want to change the filter.
Caution 2: If you plan on using the DTT TCFI II or the T-Max Autotune and you are running Rinehart True Duals with the HD Premium Oil Cooler, the larger wide band O2 sensors will hit the filter adaptor and is a real PITA to install.
Caution 3: If you install the HD Oil temp gauge, DO NOT follow the instructions and put the temp pickup in the top hose running to the cooler. Search this forum for instructions on how to install it in the oil pan. Not only is it a truer reading, it is a much easier and cleaner instal
