I changed all of my fluids on my 03 road king classic from Syn 3 in all three holes to Amsoil in the crankcase, redline transmission fluid in the tranny and HD formula + in the primary. Since the change it seems that it tends to shift more smoothly and the engine seems more quiet. It maybe my imagination as I thought oil is oil. Has anyone had this experince?

I also just switched to Amsoil, 20/50W in engine, 75/90W in trans. I can't say for sure that the engine is quieter but it for sure shifts better. Shifitng is quieter and neutral is easier to find.
I like to think of oil as insurance. I'm willing to pay a little more for the best oil. I believe that Amsoil or Mobil 1 are amoung the best sythetic oils out there.

I just switched to mobil 1 V twin in the motor, and the redlne in the tranny, it amazing how much better the tranny shifts now!! YES it makes a big difference
I use Amsoil in the crankcase, Bel-Ray in the tranny and something else in the primary. I noted a huge difference in shifting and also a slight decrese in noise from the top end of the motor when I switched from Harley's version of oil. Harley doesn't make oil, I would guess that they just get it from the lowest bidder and then put their name on it. Check out amsoil's web site, its pretty informative.
