Has any one used the HD Sundowner seat? How is it for comfort and does it keep you at same height as stock? I am short legged and thinking of a reach seat but it moves me up to far. I am looking for a wide rear seat for my wife. Putting on 08 SG
Thanks Bandit
I have the sundowner and love it. The wife couldn't handle the stock seat for more than about an hour but loves the width and support of the sundowner for her.
My wife and I tried the Sundowner on our Ultra......along with many other brands we tried.
I actually thought the Sundowner was pretty comfortable, however my wife didn't quiet like it. She said after about a two hour ride.....she felt like she was sinking to the bottom of the seat and sitting on the frame.
We ended up getting a Mustang.....it raises me up a little, but I got use to it. No complaints from her either.
I've got a 05 RK/custom, took the factory seat off, replaced it with a Sundowner, nice seat, dropped me down a little, which is what i wanted, and has a great low back support. But, it's a little wider than the stock seat, so, now my feet don't come down on the ground where they used to, I might have to have the sides of the seat trimmed in a little. Or, i'll give it some time to break in a little, overall ,GREAT SEAT!!
I replaced the stock seat with the Sundowner. I have a 32" inseam and lower back issues. The seat is very comfortable for me and I can firmly plant my feet on the ground as well as feel comfortable with them on the floor boards on long rides. I'm satisfied with this seat. No complaints from passengers either.......so far.
I replaced the stock with the sundowner on my RK. It's comfy for me, but the girlfriend was more comfortable with the stock. It moves me forward a bit. It's also a little wider than the stock seat. I can go flatfooted with a 32 inch inseam, but I could see it might be a problem for shorter legs. If you're looking for comfort and decent back support, short of a back rest, it's a good saddle.
