I'd give it at least 3/8" to allow for the tire to "grow" with speed. I can barely stick the tip of my finger under the front of my fender it's so close. It's my Harley-Hyabusa!

You might wanna drill out the holes a little bit and push down on the front part of the fender while tightening the bolts.This will prevent the tire rub at the rear of the fender.

Thanks, I enlarged the holes and did a trial fit with a 3/8 ID hose before I took it to the painter. Here is a pic of the wheels.

Bibbzed, I taped the hose on my wheel and layed the fender on. I can raise it if I need to. Thanks for the info.
